PRP Injections

PRP Injections services offered in The Lakes, Las Vegas, NV

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections use your body’s platelets to enhance healing and health. Anthony Pollard, DO, is an experienced primary care physician and a fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine who uses PRP injections at Pollard Concierge Health & Wellness in The Lakes neighborhood of Las Vegas, Nevada, for patients who want an autologous transfusion. To find out more about PRP injections and how they can benefit your health, call or schedule an appointment online today.

What are PRP injections?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections contain a high concentration of platelets. Platelets are tiny blood cells that stop cuts from bleeding. These tiny cells also contain special proteins that initiate the healing process.

PRP injections are made from a sample of your blood and contain a higher concentration of platelets than what normally circulates in your blood. When injected into areas of the body, the healing properties in the PRP activate and stimulate your body’s natural repair process.

Pollard Concierge Health & Wellness offers many innovative therapies to support natural healing and wellness. Dr. Pollard uses exosomes to treat osteoarthritis pain and reduce the degenerative nature of the disease. Exosomes usually come from donated mesenchymal stem cells.

For patients who prefer to use their body’s natural healing blood (autologous transfusion), Dr. Pollard offers PRP injections.

What are the uses for PRP injections?

Pollard Concierge Health & Wellness may use PRP injections to address medical and aesthetic concerns. Some of the uses for PRP injections include:

  • Healing of musculoskeletal injuries
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Facial skin rejuvenation
  • Hair restoration

PRP injections may also support healing after a surgical procedure.

What happens during PRP injections?

Dr. Pollard takes an individualized approach to care and customizes your PRP injection plan to match your needs and goals. He reviews the details of your treatment at your consultation so you know what to expect.

He draws a sample of blood from your arm and spins it through a centrifuge, separating the platelets from the other components in your blood (red blood cells, white blood cells). He then adds the platelets to your plasma (liquid portion of blood) to make the PRP injection.

Dr. Pollard reinfuses the PRP into the part of the body that needs support for healing and rejuvenation.

What can I expect after PRP injections?

You may experience an increase in inflammation following PRP injections. That is normal and part of your body’s repair process.

It takes time for your body to heal itself, and results vary, but you may notice improvements within a few weeks and see final results within a few months. Dr. Pollard may recommend a series of PRP injections to maximize healing.

Pollard Concierge Health & Wellness is committed to improving your present health and preventing age-related disorders without pharmacological interventions. To find out more about PRP injections and how they may help you, call the office or schedule an appointment online today.
